“And now, here we are today, only hours away from the end of our time in grammar school, which brings me to a more serious matter. I want to talk about something that is very near and dear to my heart. While not necessarily valued the same by all, it is something that will affect each and every one of us equally. Controversial? Maybe. Worth sacrificing? I hope not. A critical necessity? I’d like to persuade you that it is. I am talking about that which others have experienced in the past and present, and yet we the sixth grade class of 2010 have only been allowed to dream about. I am talking about … yes, lockers. It was so close in fifth grade. No possible chance in sixth. But seventh grade is our year.”
